VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT AN INSTITUTE OF THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN TANZANIA (KCMC)
POSITION; EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - KILIMANJARO CHRISTIAN
MEDICAL CENTRE
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The Director of Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre shall be a Medical Doctor (MD) with
specialist qualifications in any field of Medicine and not less than 8 years experience in a
management position in hospital/Medical Training Institution. The office requires that he/she is a
creative, physiologically stable, diplomatic, courageous, and tolerant person of high integrity.
He/she must be a mature person of at least 40 years of age with a. pleasant personality, able to
create team spirit among staff.
TERMS OF SERVICE
He/she will be appointed on a five (5) year contract basis renewable. He/she will be answerable
to the Board of Governors (BOG) for the management of the KCMC Hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Will be responsible to provide leadership for Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre;
• Will ensure that Christian principles, upon which GSF is founded, are observed at
Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre without discriminating against 'any faith or
creed;
• Will exercise discipline while at the same time giving Directors of Hospital, and other
responsible staff sufficient authority and autonomy to be effective in their own duties appropriately; .
• Will request the authorization of the KCMC Board of Governors when seeking solutions for problems with policy implications or changes on established policies;
• Will implement the authorized Staff Regulations and propose amendments to the KCMC Board of Governors;
• Will maintain good relationship with the Government, partners already related to GSF
and KCMC and to develop new contacts;
• Will be responsible for the planning and implementation of new developments, advising the KCMC Board of Governors on professional aspects;
• Will conduct negotiations with Government and supporting partners;
• Will be responsible for soliciting, administrating and coordinating assistance (capital, operating funds and personnel) for Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre;
• Will be responsible for safe custody and upkeep of moveable and immoveable property of Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre;
• Will be the spokesperson of Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre;
• Will be responsible for publishing, and disseminating annual reports to appropriate organs;
• Will ensure that annual plan and budget is prepared and submitted to appropriate organs, and will monitor implementation of the same;
• Will conduct regular operational research for improving performance of the institution;
• Will be accounting officer of the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre;
• Will perform any other duties that might be directed, from time to time, by the Board of Governors
